  • @CookieColt no you won't keep the warranty

  • can someone tell me if you keep your warranty if you do this and use it as an internal harddrive

  • hmm openned mine has a Cavier Black

but i really wanted a Green Drive :(

  • hello thx for the inspirational video, it feels good when you have hope..... my WD elements just cannot be recognized suddenly, I have many important datas, can I extract the internal drive and put it it inside another USB case ? if yes, what is the name of the USB case? (company and series)

  • @Amerguin what kind of case did you put it in? looking for a new enclosure for my HD

  • thanks very much. This was very informative and helped me get mine open with no damage. :)

  • Show us how to Open it Please

  • Heyy I got a question.

Mine is broken, the white light doesn't go on anymore, and according to the computer it isnt even there though it's all wired up. And I'm afraid it's a hardware(maybe even just the A/C power) error.....

I got ALOT of important data on that, both private and stuff for my study...

So I was wondering, could it be possible to save the data by opening it up, take the HDD out, connect it to the computer with a special cable and then try to copy the content I want to save?
