Lockheed Neptune P2V-7 (A89-273) - VH-IOY firing up its engines at Wings over Illawarra Air Show 2007.
This is a former RAAF aircraft which flew with No. 10 squadron out of Townsville.
Part of the aircraft fleet at the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society at Illawarra.

Hi kiesmer,
yes, engines (Curtiss-Wright R-3350- 32WA) are fitted with PRT´s. Engines have water (methanol) injection, advanced ignition system and they are only carburetor engines, that means they don`t have fuel injection pumps like the civilian versions. 32WA-engines are very powerful, for short time they can activate nearly 3900hp! I`m restoring one of these masterpieces but for ground running only.
