We stopped at the Ski Haus in Flagstaff on the way up to the San Francisco Peaks and bought a $10 ski tip connector and got a 5 year old girl up and running in about an hour. She had never skied before and still doesn't turn too well but we had a great day and she will no doubt be burning up Hart Prairie just like her mother and aunt 25 years ago. The Tip Connector helped her to easily understand that she only needed to spread her feet apart to stop or go into a snow plow.

She's a third generation SnowBowler and with the 7 and 70 rate she skied free. Erich who is 73 also skied free. With the Boomer Rate where anyone over 50 skis for $26 on a Thursday it was 3 for 26 bucks. We had a great time doing something that is about as good as a grandpa can get. Sharing quality time with family, friends and a five year old blond bomb shell!

  • This is Lee with Ski Haus, thanks for posting this. I really liked seeing this and think it's a classic. 3 generations is a beautiful thing, so cool guys.

  • Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for having the ski tip connector. We rented a lot of stuff from Ski Haus this past winter. It was one of the greatest seasons in 40 years up at Snowbowl. I was old enough for the senior discount to kick in and Eric who is over 70 ski's free as does Annabella who is under 7 so we went a lot. Eric rented your new hour glass shaped skis and really liked them.

I was wanting to buy the girl one of your used sets you were selling?

    Thanks again,

  • AWESOME! I am having flashbacks to Warren Miller ski films that your Austrian ski coach used to drag me to back in the days before vcrs and x-games.

  • You are too kind! Yep, he's a great asset to the Arizona skiing community and I hope for Annabella to get another lesson soon - like next Thursday. She is jazzed. I can imagine going to Warren Miller with him in the days before VCRs. I saw the first Warren Miller sometime in the late 60's in the Auditorium in the Student Union at NAU. It was inspirational. Thanks again! I'm going to have to find my old Warren Miller tapes now.

  • Pretty cute kid there grandpa. Looks like you were having a great time. Add another kid to the list of ones you have taught to ski.:) Uncle David

  • Yep and I think she's gonna be a good one and if you average my 10 bucks over 4 kids it's only $2.50 a pop. Let me know if you and Norton wanna come out to catch some runs. With as much snow as we have had you could probably ski up there on Memorial day.

    Thanks again,

    Bill

  • Actually the coach is from the Alps in Austria which is even better. He learned to ski about as soon as he learned to walk and to ski jump by the time he was 7. His charge is pretty reasonable too.

    Thanks

  • This video rocks!!! Good job!! Interested in retaining services for Australian Ski Coach...
