@poor750 --problem is that SVNM govt was so corrupt and society so inequitable the people didnt have the will to fight for them. US could not win the war soley in the air. Bush the chicken hawk wasnt willing to fight himself. Used his father's influence to get into Natl Guard, (which at that time, meant he would not go overseas), jumping over many others on the waiting list. But at least better than Cheney, who utilized 2 student deferrments (to get out of serving at all, becuz he had "other priorities". And of course fatass Rush Limbaugh, who claimed he had a bad back. Ironic that they got away w/ trashing Kerry in 04 race with false ads.
