Composer: Kyle Hovatter (2011)
Kevin Rogers, violin
Anne Suda, cello
Stepan Rudenko, piano

SFNewMusic and Nonsemble 6 Collaborative Concert: "For the End of Time"
Zion Lutheran Church, San Francisco, CA
May 14, 2011 - World Premiere

Program Note:
"Aloft" for violin, cello, and piano is music about music. Inspired by the cherubic sensations heard in Olivier Messiaen's Quartet, this melodic allusion to the shared musical language of Debussy blurs ancestry and existent. No revolution is attempted - only respectful applause of the enduring.

  • I am wonderfully amazed at how you managed to allude to two different composers while still maintaining your own personal voice. This piece is magnificent and the moment at 4:30 was breathtaking! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

  • Maravilloso !....esquisita música....mis felicitaciones por este regalo para el corazón y el espíritu....mi desayuno fue de dioses con esta interpretación de fondo.

    saludos a los tres

  • This was really just tremendous. I don't know how else to describe it, but it just made my day.

  • Reminds me of what Charles Ives might have sounded like if he had tried to compose an English pastoral.

  • Vase kompozicije su odlicne. Drago mi je sto vas zanima moje misljenje i zelim vam puno srece u daljem radu. (Nadam se da cete moci ovo da prevedete) Srdacan pozdrav

  • Very intellectual and moving performance!

  • Just at tip. If you lot paid for the use of that hall, they owners ought to have removed that tacky dust cloth from the pulpit thing. . Normaly a black or very dark brown cloth should be used in such a place, if it is necessary to protect something from light or dust. . I'd say that the person who put it there and who is responsible for it, is infact wishing to draw attention to her/himself as volunteer worker. . It looks very unprofessional for a 'cleaner'. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
