Recently got a SNES and i've been buying carts like crazy! Decided to see how my HD PVR handled a bit of Super Mario World.. looks pretty good if you ask me (I know it would probably look better from an emulator.. but I prefer to the play the games on the system it was intended for!). Expect more SNES gameplay in the future (especially once my Super Metroid cart gets here :D)

  • This is bizzare that you got it to work with the HD PVR. Unless the new drivers in the past year changed something, it's supposed to be impossible to get a steady recording of any classic game consoles. This is primarily because they don't output in 480i, they output in various different video signals and I believe it depends on the game.

This is why people have problems, you appear to be a bizzare exception.

  • @Cubemario Even stranger I guess is i've recorded with the newest drivers AND the 1.5.7.0 drivers (had to roll back to fix a problem with my Wii recordings freezing Sony Vegas) and i've had zero problems with either driver versions. I guess I just got lucky with my HDPVR box? I have no idea.

  • Just to say.. I really don't know why you guys have problems setting it up. I honestly haven't done anything special with my setup for this. All I did was hook up my SNES via the composite ports in the front and it worked straight away. Hopefully you guys can find a solution for your problems with recording the SNES! Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Im curious too. I hooked up my nes and it recorded sluggish and looked awful

  • @OneUpMushroom Weird.. I didn't do anything special, just hooked it up and it worked fine. I record in M2TS on constant bitrate @ 13mbps too so, nothing special there. Hope you can get it working ok, good luck!

  • hey guy, for your HD PVR, did you use Hauppauge? if you did, how did you get it to function for SNES without it slowing to a stop

  • @SharpShooter78 I do use a Hauppauge HD PVR.. to be honest, I don't know what i've done differently to you guys. I just hooked up the SNES via SCART... and it worked fine. Perhaps you need to get the latest drivers from the Hauppauge website? Sorry I can't be of more help, good luck!

  • woahh!!.. how did you hook the pvr up to ur snes.. i got both..please help :)

  • I have 3 different SNES, 2 NES, and none of them work. I've tried it on two different computers and it wont work... Dreamcast works just fine. I have the latest drivers; they didn't work, so I installed the beta drivers, and those didn't work. I give up.

  • I Also have the same problem for the life of me my snes and hauppage refuse to swap pictures exactly how have you got this set up?
