@queenie1972 It does get dark early..we need the sun for energy! I don't know what Jay has in store for January, but I have a feeling it will be a doozy.

@JestingJill You'd be proud of me if you saw all the fresh baked goods I passed up today..I am really sucking it up!

@Iloveinsegnamento Yea, it's been awhile, hasn't it? I have my off times, but I'm a glutton for punishment--I always come back for more ; )

@cashpath 20 lbs??? WOW. I thought I was doing bad. I was up 11 lbs (now I am up only 4)..The good thing seems to be..if you don't let the weight sit on you, you can take it right back off. If you think it's hard now to maintain, wait till you get to my age..it's a good thing I like a challenge ;)

What kind of equipment were you working out on? If it is a cross country ski machine? If so, what model was it? Thanks!

@mommyideas This is a ski machine. "SlimLine Power Strider". It's actually my third ski machine (I wore out the other two)...they were different brands but I still like the workout I get from them...I tried the "Nordic Track" but never liked that one.

is Peak like HIIT? I'm reallly looking into do this. I have been just jogging 30-40 minutes but have heard interval training is best for burning fat.

@thintopia I would say that it is a form of HIIT. I think that someone comes up with a new version and calls it their own idea. This one is called "Peak 8" because your heartrate peaks 8 times. I usually still have a lot of energy when I am done so I could probably do it more than 8 rounds. I like it because it is short and sweet and your done (I like to do it after training with weights).

@cotaman08 Covert Bailey, on his PBS-TV Special "Fit or Fat" called these WInd Sprints a few years ago. He said he first trained like this back in high school for his track team. He said the body thinks you are going to keep running at full speed, so it makes more Mitochrondia in the cells & increases the cell's ability to burn fat.
