Actually, since the present day name for the country is Iran, many people may not know what is meant by Periand! Secondly, nothing worng with saying Farsi, I have Greek friends who say Hellenic, if you dont know Google and learn. Finally, all translations can never allow the full understanding, thats just how it is, go translate Shakespeare and then pontificate.

@ramino57 Actually I'm Iranian and living in Canada. Canadians and other people who live here usually know Farsi as Persian. So not a big problem :)

Can anyone translate Rendan-e-Mast by Master Mohammad Reza Shajarian

@dokhtariraany . I am KURDISH and adore Persian language, poems and music. We have some poets Like Mamosta HEMN and HAJAR Mokriani who are translated Persian poems which are beautiful.
iranian poems should NEVER be translated in english nor any other language. It looses its beauty. Farsi is one of the most beautiful languages... it just becomes nonsense in english. turn me off oh god? but anyways good job :) Hayedeh is a legend

First, please when you r speaking English you shouldn't say Farsi instead of Persian! As for example if Swedish people say Svenska instead of Swedish, less people will realize what they are talking about!
Second, Why Persian poems NEVER should be translated? The problem u mentioned is true for all other languages. In addition, if for instance Fitzgerald had not translated Khayam's poems, howmany people today would have known Khayam?
