  • Yea, the later 70s Ford 4x4 is probably one of the setups I will be going with when I do swap axles. I sometimes think just the D44 & 9 setup, but I also want to try to find the d60s if possible. But those are getting harder to find. I just never have the extra cash when I find those $400-$600 old junk truck deals come along.

  • @TheChristopherjohn Well I know a guy with a stack of 60s and 14 bolts. And he can do anything. He cuts pretty good deals usually too.

  • Just to clear things up, the video is edited. The Cherokee did take more than just one shot at it. The silver rubicon with Rubi-Crawler and @ 7psi of air in the BFG Crawlers did make it on the first try after the cherokee. There was another black jeep(Reid) that was not in the video but went first, who flew up it like King of the Hammers.

  • @TheChristopherjohn That is true haha! I try to keep the most exciting footage for the youtube viewers. But if you guys ever want footage or image stills just let me know!

  • I'm running 4340 chromoly shafts in my axles and I still carry the stock shafts just in case. If anyone has broken there chromoly shafts on video and posted it let me know. Just curious on what shafts do you have in your cherokee.

  • @TheChristopherjohn i'll see if I find anything, and hopefully Gavin will get back to you. Chromos and lockers are up next for me, right after new tires.

  • @TheChristopherjohn I have also destroyed stock axle shafts, and have a picture of that, but youtube won't let me post a link.

  • @TheChristopherjohn I have the AlloyUSA chromalloy axle shafts. They hold up great and have a 10 yr warranty (but I carry spare stocks also). The weakness on a dana 30 is the carrier and axle tubes. The high pinion d30 I have is 30% stronger than a lp though and I have a truss. So my carrier is about as strong as a tj rubicon d44 axle. (They are not true d44's because they have d44 low pinion carriers (weaker) and they have d30 tubes/knuckles. A ford High pinion d44 would be best for up to 37's

  • @surfbum7623 I hear that man. Hit me up anytime, it would be great to hang out man

  • @afsisasotk haha I was just expecting to get crap for running 35's on stock axles locked. Sweet videos though man. I am thinking of coming out to san antonio with my buddy this weekend I will hit you up if I am down there.
