Exactly who is this elusive group of people who rate films behind fortress walls? The documentary "This Film is Not Yet Rated" chronicles the history of the MPAA ratings board. The filmmaker hires a lesbian family of private investigators to expose the names of the ratings board and determines whether the raters are actually parents of children 5-to-17 like the MPAA claims they are.

Uhm, watch the movie to get it? It isn't that difficult. the petition is to change the rating from R to PG 13 so children can watch it and understand what bullies are doing to children. #prettysimple

The documentary Gunner Palace which follows troops in Iraq was originally given an R-rating for language but was eventually changed to PG-13 on appeal.

I also grew up in Wisconsin public schools. In 8th grade we were shown Schindler's List, and in my freshman year health calls we were shown a film called "If These Walls Could Talk," which is an R rated film showcasing the history of abortions up until the mid 90's. At one point in the movie they show a self abortion with a knitting needle, and at another point they show an illegal abortion performed in a kitchen during the fifties.

The film reference is for those who may be interested in finding out the history of the MPAA, the guidelines the board uses to rate films, and the appeals process filmmakers have to go through to dispute ratings.
