I was startled to look out the window on Horizon Air recently and find they are using some kind of new flexible low-speed propellor technology. Not only do the propellor blades flex, but they move extremely slowly and still propel the plane at normal speed. This must be a very powerful engine. Does anyone know how they do this or anything about the science behind it?

  • you moron, that it's a visual effect of refraction, the propeller blade it's normal, not flexible and it's rotating at thousands of RPM in that phase of flight.

  • Yup- It's new technology... its the floppy noodle blade. you should see what happens when it gets wet.

  • are you kidding me ? You don't realy believe in that or ?

  • 76 people got slapped by a flexible propeller.

  • @opossom1968 dude...hes obviously trolling...deal with it...

  • THIS IS POSTED BY AN IDIOT WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE WAY SHUTTER SPEED WORKS, IT IS AMAZING TO ME THE AMOUNT OF TRULY STUPID PEOPLE.

I BLAME THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM

  • @Martsu97 The WINDOW has NO Effect whatsoever, its all down to speed of the prop, and more importantly the shutter speed of the video camera in use, tie that in with the usual effect you see on more often seen shots, i.e. helecopter blades not moving, car wheels etc etc, its all down to perception of the eye coupled with image capture speed.

Try using a camcorder looking at an old style TV - CRT (Not lcd/plasma) and see what u get - same principle, different effect

  • stroboscope

  • That is not a new jet engine, you are most likely thrown off by the fact that the window reflects the image oddly. It also wouldn't be a "secret" if you were able to see it.

  • You believe that chemtrails are real, don't you?

  • wow! that's awesome!
