I have pine plyboard wall cutouts for my truck. I wanted something stylish yet weather proof, so I chose to stain with Minwax gunstock waterbase, and clear coat with another brand (Rustoleum housed) Marine Gloss Clear Varnish.
The stain set for approximately 20 hours, and I went in for the gloss. It was humid, but it was about 85* outside when i painted the varnish on. The surfaces came out sticky/tacky so I tried another coat and had the same results. Where did i go wrong? How can I fix it?
