you are funny...but nothing willtop your 'heavy schtetl' music...!

Sounds intriguing but doesn't quite work. Still have to hear the Klezmer clawhammer. BTW, is there any instrument, ancient or modern, you don't play?

this made my night

Not fan of judaeo-christian labels on anything. (not a fan of book based religions), you're really good! I appreciate your music and wish you good fortune in all that you pursue.

Hello! I am a banjo player and want to learn some klezmer tunes so I can play with my sister, an accordionist! Do you know of any good books or CD compilations? Also, how do you tune your banjo? Is it open G like bluegrass?
thanks!
beautiful tunes!

Hi!The banjo is tuned to standard open G tuning, to give the intervals of the "Ahava Raba" mode of Klezmer(GAbBCDEbFG).For the ancient Jewish "Misheberakh" mode,(GABbC#DEFG)as heard in "Chusen Kala Mazel Tov" or in "Odessa Bulgar" just tune the 3rd string B down to a Bb to give open G minor tuning. The ONLY other Klezmer banjo player I know of,is Henry Sapoznik, although I think he plays tenor banjo. Maybe this could spark the beginning of a whole new genre..."HILLEL BILLY MUSIC", maybe???;o)
