Hi,thanks for sharing the video. Could you tell me where is your fishing spot? in Monterey? or inside of 17 miles Drive(the Pebble Beach)? if in Monterey, I don't know where is the golf course that you mentioned. Thank you very much:)

The bag limit for Monterey area is 10 rock fish species per day. The fish on this video is Cabezon. Only one Cabezon of 15" or bigger is allowed. Because of the 10 fish limit, for example, you can keep 2 Lingcod's, 1 Cabazon, and 7 Rock fish.
The DFG website has great color photos of rock fish of California. The most common in Monterey are Gopher, Kelp, Grass, Black-and-yellow, and Brown Rock fish. I catch these most times I go fishing.
I'll post a video of my fishing gear & how I do it soon.
I Love Caezon fishing, I usted to catch them near Vandenberg AFB on the cliffs as a kid. We used Limpids we pryed from the rocks as bait and live crabs too. Squid works just as good though.

@pierfisherman76 Cast out far on rough days, but only 5-30 feet on rough days. There are a lot of fish just under your feet if you are on a rock formation. If you are fishing from a sandy shore line cast into or near the water where two bolders meet.
Thanks.
