Find out about the history and threats facing the ancient peat bog at Lindow Moss (also known as Saltersley Common) with local authors, Matthew Hyde and Christine Pemberton, and Saltersley Common Preservation Society member, Tony Evans.
In this film, we visit the place where the 2000 year old bog body, Lindow Man, was found, compare and contrast age-old methods of peat extraction with the modern method, as well as seeing the effects of cutting on the wildlife and on the surrounding area.

  • does anyone know how to contact Christine Pemberton or Matthew Hyde. There is a quote in their book that is untrue and I would like to speak to them about it.

  • @mmould1000 I don't have a direct e-mail address for either of them, however I will send you an e-mail address for Rob at the Saltersley Common Preservation Society, who helped me with creating this video, and contacted Christine and Matthew for me.
