The Spider Festival - Street Performance

The Spider festival supports transnational mobility of cultural workers and artistic works through various activities. Firstly, it encourages transnational circulation (and mobility) of artists as well as of artistic and cultural works originating from different countries and cultures. Secondly, it connects people from various artistic fields and milieus (dancers, choreographers, musicians, writers, sculptors, visual artists) and thus diminishes borders between different artistic professions. Thirdly, it brings art and culture to the street, to the public sphere; the project opens-up the artistic space and its participatory potential in order to encourage people to »communicate internationally« and take part in a multimedia artistic creation (as a tool against social exclusion). The project is structured as an on-going field of artistic development, which »goes beyond« transnational borders, certain venues and sophisticated artistic circles. The Spider has a special net, a unique inherent structure, which can be recognised as a model for future connections, marketing communication, international culture production, co-operation and participation.
