A great video! The kids need less than 40 kids per classroom. And they need updated teaching tools. Emmanuel, take heed!

Oh come on. Teachers like unions because it keeps them from getting fired. They don't have to WORK in order to keep their job like the rest of us.

Teachers aren't "getting fat of (sic) the government cheese". They worked for it, it's not like it's a hand out, though I agree education rarely seems to be a priority.

Even if those are secondary reasons, don't you think they're worth addressing? They're kind of important for a good learning environment. Without even books you're sending students a message that they don't matter and that they're not even worth a fucking book. The printing press has been invented, books aren't hard to come by, there is no reason these issues should even exist. If the strike brings about some much-needed change then let it be, it's a positive thing, don't be bitter.

Maybe it's because it's hard to learn in a class with so many students... I had a class once where there weren't enough desks and there wasn't any room for any more. The reason the class was so big is because instead of having two sections of the class they had one because two people dropped it, so it equaled one person per section less which brought it just below the minimum number of people required to have a class. It's not okay that they pushed us all into a cramped room because of 1 person

I suppose that you are a product of the educational system. You are about to find yourself ill-prepared for the real world if your diction spelling and grammar are any indication. I suggest, in all seriousness, that you review where you stand personally before you blindly support those doing you such a disservice.

As a student i stand with my teachers! They are the ones that do deserve a better pay rate if this is what this comments are all about, they are the one that get us STUDENT prepare for our future they are the ones that support us and guide us to the path and go to college so yeah if they were on strike for that well yes they deserve it! Some student dnt have to strugge like cps students do we need a better education nd thats what teacher were also asking for!

Those were secondary fights behind growing their union. Don't be fooled by the "resources" line they throw out. They would rather have raises or job protection than educate kids. They are the ones blocking school choice for the poor so that their teachers can be protected. They don't want a choice because it makes them accountable. Individual teachers can be good, but collectively as a union is bad for the taxpayer and students. They are worried about protecting their own over education.

No, thank you taxpayers! We are the ones who foot the bills, These kids will be paying higher taxes because of the strike long after they finish school. Teachers better make sure grades improve since they think pay raises make kids smarter.
