@bwd81977 There are the ILS (Instrument Landing System). The ILS is two radio signals from the runway, the localizor signal and the glideslope signal. The localizor helps the airplane to keep on the centerline of the runway and the glideslope helps for a steady (normally 3 degree) descent. The lights are not sensors, but simply just lights. Pilots use them in bad visibility to determine distance to runway. The perpendicular lights are spaced with 300 meters / 1000 feet apart.

At any point are there ground sensors that guide the computer on board to keep the aircraft on a straight line on approach? I was just wondering what the row of lights mean that extend leading to the runway. I thought they might be like sensors helping to land the airplane or something. :-)
now that a beautiful first officer =D, amazing video as always and great quality.
