Peds on the cyclepath

Pedestrians just wandering along the cyclepath without a care in the world, but hang on isnt that a nice wide promenade to the left????? By the way this is Southends new showpiece cyclepath but more and more cyclists are refusing to use it because it is just too dangerous.

@ian8354 If you do it intentionally, then it would be battery. If you are exercising due care on the road but accidently hit a pedestrian in a segregated cycle lane then I think that the pedestrian would normally be liable.

I wonder were you stand [law wise] if you ran into a pedestrian ? When I come across ped's in cycle lanes I do not move around them but straight into them and this is when I tell them *they are in the wrong* not me........

This is where different colour tarmac helps the less observant. I've had narky comments when there have only been the big white cycles painted under their feet!! :)

@2FlatErics I wondered why the rider in front reacted.

I've been riding along a cyclepath and heard the odd "f*%$ing pavement cyclist, use the road!" or seen them deliberately stand in the way to block us. You know its deliberate by the look on their face or the pointing they do.
