Body Language - Societal Views and Development of Eye Contact

All humans communicate by using different culturally habits to send and receive messages. Body language plays an essential role in human communication. Just like verbal language, body language follows patterns and rules. Depending on the religious and social differences between cultures, the meaning of eye contact can be change completely. By understanding the day-to-day practices of body language, you will be able to understand what is acceptable and what could be considered a serious offence. From my research I believe that every society or culture has adapted his or her own understanding of eye contact. However, in some cases the issue of eye contact can be related to low self-esteem or due to posture issues.
