I took this silent movie when I was working at Hamersley Iron's Tom Price iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of WA, in the late 1970's.
The smaller haultrucks were Wabco120B and the larger ones were Wabco3200B, ( They carried well over 200 tons of iron ore at a time.) Both were relatively easy to drive once you had got used to their size.
I think the quality of the movie is pretty good, considering it's age and the fact that it has been transferred from old Cine film---VHS---DVD---PC and finally to YouTube.

  • Oh this is so well done, I was there in 86 for a couple of years and still dream about it. I just wish I had bought back a bit of that dam heavy rock stuff that broke my brain when the shovel dumped it on the back of the little 200 ton tonka toys.

    Thanks for the memory.
