She is courageous. I really admire her speaking out for women's rights. Women are treated like filth in some much of this world by religion and those that use religion to serve their purpose.
@ritubahar I think she meant exactly what she said. She`s a tough woman who risked her life in Bangladesh to state her views. And she`s also smart. She knows very well what "Godless Americans March" means. I don`t think she would have been there if she meant ppl`s misperceptions about God. That doesn`t mean I agree w/her. I agree w/you, but I do think she would consider it an insult to suggest she didn`t express what she really meant. She`s a writer & fighter. She said what she meant.
Most of the people even don't know ABC of Novel Lajja and see protester of Tasnima, most of them I am sure didn’t even completed their early schooling. Most impressive lines from the Novel is "In India Muslim can retaliate however countries like Bangladesh & Pakistan Hindus/minorities even don’t have that right". Whole novel was truth and touchy. If someone make movie on Lajja I am sure it will get OSCAR and all top level awards.

Thanks for your reply. I think you are right. She has a right to her opinions, especially when she has had such bitter experiences to justify them.

I am however sorry if I am simply imposing one of my opinions on her by interpreting her words the way I do.
