  • Batman Begins > The Dark Knight

    I would say:

    Begins 10/10

    TDK 9/10

  • I wanna thank Christopher Nolan (In film) and Neal Adams (In comic book) for giving us a dark, human and serious Batman

  • @orton305 ROFL everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose

  • @raulolmos Yes, the Ledger was brilliant in TDK (even though Liam Neeson was still very good as Ra's). However, as a Batman movie, I prefer Begins because I love the way they involve fear and it was much darker overall imo.

Anyway, they're both amazing films. This sure is Batman's golden age, at least when it comes to films and videogames :P

He has also done movies like Peter Jackson's King Kong, Spacejam, Dinosaur (fantastic score on that one), and others of course. His range of style is massive, vastly superior to Zimmer's. AND, he usually works alone, whereas Zimmer uses a ton of ghost writers and does so much collaborative work. JNH>HZ, anyday.

  • @wakuwaku333666

Zimmer has not written any music for Winnie the Poo within the last year. His work on the Simpsons Movie was a rearrangement of Danny Elfman's original work on the franchise. JNH has scored everything M Night Shaymalan has ever done. This includes Signs and the Sixth Sense, both of which have fantastic scores. He did such Disney greats as Atlantis and Treasure Planet, both scores of which are better than most of Zimmer's entire catalogue (and vastly different from the previous).

  • @Fretglider041

Now you name JNH, but I only know he's done Hidalgo and WaterWorld. These scores are good, but they're not special and definetely not recognizable. Hans Zimmer's scores are different. I don't see any comparison between The Last Samurai and the Gladiator. Hans Zimmer is also doing lots of different movies, he's done Simpsons the movie and last year he's even done a score for Winnieh the Pooh. POTC4 music is also very new and special. JNH is good, Hans the best!

  • @MODERNGAMES2

You know Zimmer didnt do Kingdom of Heaven. That was Harry Gregson-Williams, the same guy who did work on the MGS series and COD4.

  • @MODERNGAMES2 more like a music knight!

  • @orton305 Nope for me. TDN > Batman begins. The villain has much more charisma

  • @ahmedniaz5

Yes. James Newton Howard is a much better, more insightful composer than Hans Zimmer, imo. Every Zimmer score sounds the same. BIG DRUMS, GIGANTIC PERCUSSION, going for the wow factor. JNH however, can work in any style, from horror/suspense to Disney swashbuckling (aka Signs, Treasure Planet), always writes a beautiful and recognizable theme, always something different yet magical in its own right, and never seems to get any credit. And it's a shame, because he's totally the man.

  • hans zimmer is god
