I bought my first house, backed on to where the sheds use to be about half a mile beyond the station, just so I could watch the forties from bed!!!When a 40 was on the Blackpool, you knew that was the whole day gone. 3 round trips.God how I miss them.

More memories of the old HM class 40s! Did anyone ever photo/film locos on the old MML between Wath and Normanton? There is some sadly all too brief footage taken from a Class 47 cab on here. I would love to hear from anyone who has negs of anything on that route (just for my own collection). To see a once four track main line reduced to a single freight branch is not good. Thanks in anticipation.

@aureol40012 hi,does anyone recognise the guy in the red shirt @2.00,looks like some some one that used to do the 87's up the wcml in the 80's 90's,was mates with some of the west yorkshire crew that came over on the old area 2 ticket cicrca that time
