This is the GE model that replaced the older 101 series square smoke detectors from the late 70's-early 80's. Black & Decker later bought out GE's line of smoke alarms, which was later known as the "Flamebuster" series, until about 1992.

  • We have this same smoke alarm in our house! It is on the second floor, and it surprisingly STILL works. The only times I've ever heard it beep were when testing it, and the low battery warning.

  • There is a version of this still made in the original factory in Ireland and sold in Europe - Ei Electronics
