The continuing discussion about cases of sexual abuse and allegations concerning Bishop Walter Mixa have led to widespread mistrust of the Catholic Church in Germany. Catholics are leaving the church in growing numbers, and congregations fear collapse. Here is DW's report from a Bavarian Catholic community.
The real problem is that the Roman Liturgy was destroyed and the new product does not please God or man.

The problem here is not the abuse, but rather the Vatican's absolute refusal to deal with structural changes needed to cure this problem ie: Lay Governance, end to celibacy, election of bishops etc. Ratzinger's obsession with tradition and crushing of dissent is only adding fuel to the fire. It is not individuals who caused this problem, it is the hierarchy itself.

The empty seats in this church speak volumes. People are tired of hypocritical catholic priest preaching love and forgiveness and then telling their choir boys to reach over the pew and pick up a sweetie :-)

I think Catholic Church will collapse soon in the First World......probably they will start exploiting the populations in the Third World.

I do not think so. We must learn from our errors. And that bad people MUST pay for what they have done. And the Pope has apologized for that errors...errors that were not made by him. But he is there. Facing this big problem.
