For more about Chevron's environmental stewardship, visit http://www.chevron.com/globalissues/environment/. Renowned Australian environmentalist Dr. Harry Butler has been a special consultant to Chevron in Australia for more than 40 years. He directs Chevron's environmental management of Barrow Island, a Class A nature preserve, producing oil field and site of our Gorgon liquefied natural gas project. The practices Butler has put in place have ensured that Barrow Island has neither lost nor gained a single species, ecosystem or process since operations began in 1964.
