Spoke to Rodney Van Cooten today. We went to school together in Brooklyn Heights. His brother Joe and my brother were in the same class. I remember how much he loved music then. Still sounds great and I hopefully will be seeing him for when he gets back from vacation this month. Rodney has been with the band for about 30 years. Always loved listening to Joe Cuba and his band!

Thanks for downloading this, the video and music quality are great. I was fortunate to hear Joe Cuba in the 60's in Los Angeles and in Las Vegas! In L.A. it was in a very small smoke filled club, capacity 75 people squeezed in a gozar! In Vegas he appeared in a lounge, bringing gente to the dance floor! Viva Joe Cuba.Great memories.

Awwwww mannn! If this isn't one of the best music videos on YouTube I don't know what is. Pure Puerto Rican Soul of the highest order.

heard this song a couple weeks ago for the first time. LOVE IT !! SO MUCH FUN!

OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Joe Cuba sextet were perhaps the best band in the 60's. Too bad radio stations have forgotten them. They had great hits with Tu abuela adonde esta, and they remade the best version of OYE COMO VA. My favorite songs is Mi Lindo Son, from the bailadores album, and solo por ti from the Alma del barrio album

Originally Bang-Bang was recorded on a summer evening in the Bronx, all the voices even the little kid you hear on the original recording are actually people that were there when the recording took place summer of 1967 the Bronx don't have the location.
