On this day in 1965 {February 17th} Herman's Hermits performed "Can't You Hear My Heart Beat" on the ABC-TV program 'Shindig!'...

One month earlier on January 30th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} and spent 15 weeks on the Top 100...

Interestingly, even though it reached #2 in American it was never released as a single in their native England...

R.I.P. lead guitarist Derek Leckenby {1943 - 1994} and Jimmy O'Neil {1940 - 2013, Shindig's host}...

I saw them in 2005 when I was in the 5th grade!! And I'm a senior in high school now and I still have the memory of having the honor on meeting Peter Noon!! They need to travel one last time and come back to Texas!!! Love this band so flipping much!! -3 :)

 That's so typical. We never realize how valuable things are and what a sentimental meaning they have to us until it's too late. But even if we do know this ahead of time, somebody always gets rid of them before we can stop them. It usually is mothers who just can't stand the clutter any more and end up trashing precious collector's items.

Peter Blair Dennis Bernard Noone. Why do I remember his full name? Beats me, but I belonged to their fan club & had all their albums (mom put them in a yard sale while I was away at college).
