Bob Bryan hitting forehands in slow motion. This video was filmed during a practice session at the 2009 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA ( http://www.bnpparibasopen.org ).
Raphael, just look at Agassi. VERY compact. Bob couldv'e been a great singles player but Mike just doesn't have the firepower. They've actually said the reason they have a harder time in singles because they've focused on doubles from a very early age. They developed footwork to cover their part of the court the best they could...not to cover the entire court. Their lateral movement is far below singles pros. Of course..if Bob had trained for singles as a kid I think he'd be a top player!
i agree simple is the way to go. if singles player had those type of strokes wonder how it would be. personallly i think if they were younger and faster. they would dominate the game is singles. also i think if someone to develop solid strokes like that plus be very athletic they would no doubt be in the type.
He hit a lot of reverse forehands in this video (I was very surprised) but he does in fact hit a windshield wiper forehand. It doesn't always look like it because it's very compact..due to the quick speed of doubles Bob/Mike have developed strokes with no unneeded motions unlike many pros.
I notice he dosn't use the windshield wiper forehand. Is this because he is a doubles player? The windshield wiper forehand flies the ball higher over the net - easier for the net player to intercept. (I'm guessing).

He has so little shoulder rotation through the ball

It's so compact. I don't care, to me that's the sexiest forehand on tour.
