The point isn't that people shouldn't try to look different. The point is that it is yet another time when the Western media has decided to "ethnosize" a white person, instead of hiring someone who is actually Asian. It feeds into that age-old Hollywood belief that white people (the majority) won't buy a product that doesn't have a white person on it, so instead of actually hiring a minority person to play a minority person, they continue to hire white people to play non-whites.

A lot of Asian models make their eyes bigger temporarily for shoots with eyelid glue, but no one finds that offensive. Or Asians wearing contact lenses; why can't they just get a Caucasian women then for the photo shoot?

i feel like the majority of people that are "offended" at this video arent even asian.. coming from an asian perspective, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a caucasian model with makeup to appear more asian for the shoot's concept. asian's do it ALLLLLL the time for their photoshoots.

thats not the point. If they wanted an asian model they would have. They wanted HER facial features, with asian eyes. Its not just the asian eyes that defines an asian. Its the brow bone, the nose.. etc..
