Villisca 1912 Axe Murders

This video is a compilation of clips- documenting the 1912 Villisca, Iowa Axe Murder House - voted one of the scariest places on Earth. Eight people, 2 adults and 6 children were all brutally butchered while sleeping in their beds - its reported the killer or "killers"- hid up inside the family's attic (while they were away at church) waited till they returned home and were all asleep- then attacked- killing all. Horrifically the murders have never been solved- many reports of haunting surround the home (including recorded EVPs and ghostly children rolling toy balls across the floor, also the opening and closing of the closet door on its own accord.-The Home has now become a popular "haunted" tourist attraction.

i believe there is more that one killer. how can one man go in one room and sliced off a head and the other person in that same room woke up and screamed loud enough for everyone to hear? i just feel like atleast one person is capable of escaping but not if you have multiple axe muerderers maybe one in the adult room and the other in the children room. evidence that look strong are most likely andy sawyer, the rev, and maybe mansfield. just in my opinion

Keep in mind this was small town 1900's..."sounds" in the night (if you get my meaning) were pretty natural. Its safe to assume that the children were probably the last to go and they (if they were awake at all) might have assumed that any noises from mom and dad's bedroom were just the norm - maybe crazier than usual that night but nothing to sneak out of the house and run for help kind of sounds.

Just my thoughts.

@KaYsEa24 People sound asleep in bed... thump... thump.... Next room... people sound asleep in bed, repeat the same steps. It's possible that someone was awake or heard something but apparently not enough to make a difference. With the whole house asleep, it's not impossible to do quite a bit without being heard.

@DeeandraRose A small town with a population no bigger than an average high school, I can't imagine the people there handling the crime scene in a careful manner at all. Everyone knew everyone and it was probably a lot more casual. Back then forensics was probably not very well known by the general public.

@Meeperish If you're asleep and someone hits you in the head with an axe, you probably won't make a sound. Even if someone sleeping in the room at the time, heard something happening, by then it would have been too late. It only takes a matter of seconds to swing an axe two good times. It's possible and even plausible that nothing or very little would have been heard that night.
