@vinceAV8R I agree with you, but in some strange circumstance that someone had the money to buy a P180 all they would need to fly it is a PPL, Multi-Engine rating, and a high performance rating. That is if they are in the U.S and are using FAA rules. I mean this person could fly there family around or something. The only thing that would be hard would be getting insurance. Do you agree that those are the requirements for flying the P180 if you are rich PP?

APTL indeed...with PPL u can't do anything!with PPL u can only fly with SEP airplanes.

Nice video! Nice landing! Nice aircraft! Thank you for posting this Piaggio Avanti video. I'm looking forward to fly one of these, once I finish my ATPL. The best twin turboprop in the world!
The piaggio avanti II P180 is a multi-engine turboprop aircraft, and as long as a turboprop is less than 12,500 lb's you do not need a type rating to fly it. The Piaggio's max take off weight is 11,100 pounds. Therefore all you need to fly the Piaggio avanti ii is a PPL and a Multi-Engine rating. Also you are most likely going to fly above 10,000 feet so you will need an instrument rating (although you technically do not need to fly over 10,000 ft). YOu do not need an APTL.

@flyinhigher1000 Almost correct, mtow is 12100 pounds. I dont think anyone actually flies this for fun, so commercial rules usually apply, not sure about the FAA rules, as this is a Canadian aircraft.

Do you need an ATPL to fly this sort of aircraft? Or can you also fly it with a PPL?

It can be flown single pilot though it is a high performance aircraft. However, we always operate it with a 2 pilot crew.
