An animal rights advocate is under arrest after trying to help a dog locked inside of a foreclosed Los Angeles home.
Neighbors say when the owners left the home they took everything but the dogs.
Taz was in the garage.
A puppy was in the house.
Next door neighbor Elisa Woods says she worried they were getting hungrier.
She called for help.
L.A. Animal Services came with food and water, but they didn't enter the home.
"Possibility the people could come back and then they could turn this around and sue the city," explained Animal Services Officer Hoang Dinh.
The city is required to give a written warning to the owners before entering the home or removing the dogs.
That wasn't good enough for animal rescuer Hans Petersen.

He entered the home, then came out with a six-month-old puppy.
The LAPD arrived moments later and Hans was arrested for interfering with Animal Services as they conducted their duties.
The puppy was taken to to the South LA Animal Shelter,
but Taz, the dog in the garage, was left behind.
**Update -- that night someone returned to the home and broke Taz out of the garage. The dogs are free...!
@canadiens5 This conversation is over, you make no sense it's like comparing apples and oranges. Please change your profile name, it's just embarassing for the whole country. I don't need to get mad and call you names, your intelligence is out here for the whole world to see.

@Riccoh21 ......doing a good deed does not examp you from the law, and you say I need to go back to school? If you see an old lady having trouble crossing the street and someone gets out to help her....and steals her wallet when she is done, and the guy gets arrested for that.....are you still going to call the cops "pigs" then? Are you going to say "he did do a good deed so he shouldnt be arrested"....its the same principle.

@Riccoh21 me go to school. LOL. The guy was arrested, actually for Obstruction. Go back to the 1:04 mark or so. The cop in the car said he was obstruction their investigation, and that cleared up LA city from any liabilities. MEANING if they did NOT do the investigation, then there would be a lawsuit. I did go back to the video and appearently you need to. Bottom line is he did something he wasn't supposed to. He did a good deed and bropke the law at the same time.......

@canadiens5 My laws? I'm from Canada, they are the queens laws, not mine. At this point I'm ashamed to admit that, because you just made Canadians look like idiots. Yes they do need to be replaced, but that not something easy to do.

@canadiens5 The more you respond the dummer you sound, so why not stop while you're ahead. I didn't claim that the cop arrested him so that there would not be a lawsuit, the cop said that on the video. Why don't you watch the damn video again, before you open your fool mouth. You cannot get charged by taking something that has been abandoned, it's not stealing. That's why he was not charged for theft, it was tresspass. Go back to school, get yourself an education before you talk any more shit.

@Riccoh21 ....and if your laws there are as fucked up as they sound, by the way you put them, then the powers-that-be need to be replaced.

@Riccoh21 LMFAO....you tell me I have nothing intelligent to say yet you claim the cop arrested the guy so there isn't a lawsuit? How in the fucking hell would there be a lawsuit? ANd you are still missing the point......the dog was NOT his, abandoned or not it was not his. NO matter how you look at it it is still stealing. How the fuck can you not understand that? He DID resue the dog I agree 100%, but rescuing an animal doesn't exempt you from the law.......

@canadiens5 The only reason they arrested this hero, was to protect themselves from a lawsuit, they realy don't care about the well being of animals. Like the cop said we had to arrest him to protect us and city from a lawsuit. If that's what you call doing there job you need you're head checked, and those dogs where abandoned so don't make it out like if that man who rescued them was stealing. Sorry to say but you're a complete moron, and you obviously have nothing intelligent to say.

@Riccoh21 If cops "looked the other way" then they arent doing their job. Ive seen videos on youtube and other places where cops were in the wrong, it happens. The cops here was right in arresting the guy but wrong for NOT getting the owners.....I'd love to get the owners alone for 5 minutes because then I would be arrested for bashing their head in.
