Thanks for your help! :) I really enjoy the fact that there is a pattern and videos to help out with the difficult bits and that you are willing to answer questions! Thank you :)

@AmyW1205 Without having a look at your work for myself, I think I can at least help you fix what is happening (even if I don't fully understand it.) You might need to knit across 1/4 of the stitches to get your working yarn coming from the side of the sock (not the top or bottom). Whatever happened to get you where you are doesn't really matter...just do what you have to do to get the yarn in the correct spot to graft. Please let me know if you need more help. :)

@AmyW1205 Hi Amy - no, the technique is the same, either way. I suppose the only difference would be whether you prefer to hold the tapestry needle in your L or R hand. Holding it in your L hand would, of course, require that you work the kitchener stitch from L to R, opposite of what I show in the video. I hope that helps. It may be that you just need more practice with your tension while you work it.
I am having the same problem as Amy, and I don't understand what you are saying to fix it. What I did is take half the stitches from one needle, but them on the other. then do the same on the other side. So that makes the working yarn end right smack in the middle. So I figured I would just weave the yarn in and start the kitchener sitch. But then I have this little piece of straight yarn on the back. Confusing? All I know is it's wrong. Help needed please.

@itsapat Did you see in my response that there was a mistake in the pattern, and it has been fixed? (You should have received a note from Ravelry telling you there is a newer version of the pattern for you to download.) The only thing I changed was instead of knitting 10 before starting the kitchener stitch, you knit 5. That will get your working yarn in the correct place, and have your stitches split in half on two needles. Please let me know if you need more help!

I'm also having trouble figuring out how to rearrange the stitches/needles to get them the yarn to the side (rather than top or bottom). I've tried watching the video slowed down but I can't catch what it is you're doing. In the pattern it says, "Without pulling the cord long knit 10."...? I'm not sure even what this means. Please help.

@filmgirlclassic Bah! I think you've found a mistake in the pattern that no one has ever brought up before. The pattern says to knit 10 before starting the kitchener stitch, but you actually want to knit FIVE. That will get the working yarn from the back of the heel (or center bottom of the sole) to the side of the foot. Then you're ready to graft. You'll have ten stitches on one needle, and ten on the other. Does that help?
