  • @donegalfiddler, It's a Strad. This Strad once belonged to the Mr John Corigliano Sr. (the father of the famous composer John Corigliano) who was a concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic for 23 years. In late 70's (after the death of Mr Corigliano) the Bulgarian government bought it for Mr Minchev. It's a gorgeous instrument.

  • Paganini's 1st concerto has been overplayed to the point that if I don't hear it for the next 10 years I won't miss it. Concerti 3-6 are rarely heard by comparison. Of course, the 5th is not a showpiece like the 1st, but it's quite interesting nevertheless. Minchev is patient with this concerto & plays with a full, rich tone. I can't imagine it played any better. I only wish that Heifetz had recorded the Paganini concerti.

  • This is absolutly perfect, this is space muzik

  • Bravissimo!!!

  • Великолепен запис!!!! :)

  • @donegalfiddler he has a stradivari, buyed for him by the buldarian state

  • Does any one know if this is a Stradivarius,a Guarnerius,or other.

  • @henry89it O my God, My God. Is this artist really Human?,I have been struggling to play the violin for 65 years, and compared to this I declare here and now that I can not play at all. What an ARTIST, What a concerto, This performance is surely the best ever. No words can explain the wonderful feeling that your playing has given me. This is the greatest performance of Paganini,s work that I have ever heard. Tony O, Donnell, participent in the struggle.
