I was wary of trying this as there was a warning from one person that it would take out the use of my scanner which i use a lot. What i did was try the Cold Reset a hint by the same person. I did have to re install the driver and it seems to have worked for me. It doesnt show new ink levels but it does print and thats good enough for me. Thanks Stationaire Team
The safe way to do the reset of ink properly for HP 1050:-
1) Cold Reset
While the printer is powering on, unplug the power cable from the printer. wait 10 seconds and hold "cancel" and "color" button together and plug in the power cable whilst continue to hold the buttons. After a while the lights will flash and you have to print and scan alignment page and the printer thinks the inks are new again.
Don't try this unless you the scanning function is of no use to you.
The reset of the ink worked, but the scanner unit will malfunction once you tried this. Scans/copies will have black line in the center forever, and printer wont be able to do maintainence or print head align from the computer cause it will disable the communication. I have to call HP to service this. Lucky under warranty.
worked a treat for me,but just to make sure I RE INSTALLED THE DRIVERS ok so you dont see any ink levels displayed, but at least it solved the problem printer works fine on black refills now,it may not work at first, if not just blot the print head with cleaner to re activate it, many thanks
burhaaaaa! Its working for me guys! thanks to video uplader and for sharing their unique solution! once again thank u very much............................
Press the Power Button and while keeping it pressed press the X button, this will start ur print job but at end also print a error report , each time u have to do this
Does it also work for HP Deskjet 2050 series? How version of the Printer Software you are using.. This information will certainly help!!!
