Let's see, since John Sterling has been the Yankees' main announcer, the Yankees have won 7 Pennants and 5 World Series. Since anybody has been a Mets announcer, they've won 4 Pennants and 2 World Series.

@slapshot68 because of the situation! it was a situation in the game where a catcher that has no speed would not be stealing a base right there. but it was obviously a hit and run and Sterling was right he wasnt just strait stealing second Jeter was supposed to swing

if he was that bad wouldnt he get paid less, especially since he is on yankees franchise payroll, and along with that fact , what makes you think the steinbreners are any less nit picky with their announcers than they are their players.

I ADORE JOHN STERLING. Except if Paul O'Neill is on YES, I turn the sound down on the tv and listen to John and Susyn. I think he's GREAT. I love his calls, I love the nicknames (" A TEX MESSAGE FROM TEXEIRA; AN A-BOMB FROM AROD; ROBBIE CANO DONCHA KNOW.) I love it all. He brings joy and laughter to every game. Michael Kay is absolutely obnoxious. I love Kenny Singleton, but Kay is a pain in the ass knowitall.
