Funny how Mendes introduced the US to Brasilian music and in Brasil he is not at all popular.

Lovely version of this song....but, still cannot replace the studio version of one of the most simple yet incredible songs I've ever heard in my life. Stunning lyrics that paint a verbal picture so vivid you feel like you can reach out an touch or imagine it in your mind complete with aromas, warmth, a breeze and the essence of peace. This song reminds me of my late father who passed away in 2003. He brought home the first Sergio Mendes album (Brasil '66), and introduced our family to the best of Sergio Mendes. And this was my dad's favorite song to slow dance to with my beautiful mother. It's also one of my many favorite songs of Sergio Mendes. RIP Papa. ♥ ♥ ♥

This song will forever remind me of my wonderful big brother who introduced us to Sergio and Brazil 66 and our late sister, who LOVED this song.....RIP Susie.
