I discovered this technique using plastique wrap in Claudine Hellmuth's book "Collage Discovery Workshop", but with acrylic paint. I use it several time and love this technique !
I then saw this video on Youtube doing the same, but with Glimmer Mists (by Tattered Angels), and thought i should give it a try.

It's easy, except the drying time that can be long if you spray a lot of mist, it's quick to create.
And the final result is just gorgeous !

I do a lot of mixed media art, and you can used the Workable Fixative spray (brand: Krylon) so you'll be able to work on it without smudging it. OR you heat dry it, and spray an hairspray over (thanks to my friend Scrapacat for this tip).

  • Very Pretty. =)

  • @JandrAthala Thank you

  • This just looks like regular watered down acrylic paints. What is so special about GM paints?

What local stores sell "Glimmer Mists?" How much per bottle? Thanks:)

  • @BirdOfParadise777 Hi ! Glimmer Mists are actually a waterbase product, it is not acrylic. However, you can find PLENTY of videos here on YouTube from people who explain their way of creating yourself something a bit similar.

You should find them in scrapbooking stores. Each store does their own price but usually you can find them for around $7-8/bottle.

    I hope it helped.

  • stunning! TFS

  • @rhodapierce Hi ! I used Glimmer Mists (by Tattered Angels) in this video, it is a shimmery ink spray. There is also the brand Lindy Stamp Gang that I love love love. You can also do it with spray paint you created yourself for example.

My pleasure to share, hopine my answer helped.
