Amityville Horror House (w/ strange phone calls) 2005

112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, Long Island, New York in 2005. The place where Ronald DeFeo, Jr. shot dead six members of his family. Yes, this is the house; the famous quarter round windows were removed when the house was renovated.

The Back Story: My boyfriend at the time was hired to write a script about the true story of The Amityville Murders (the DeFeo murders) not the popular Lutz Amityville Horror stories which surfaced from the family who moved into the house after the murders. We happen to be going to New York and decided to go see the Amityville House while we were there. So we took a train to Long Island, NY and walked through the town to the house. We took some pics and made a little video and left. While there my boyfriend's cell phone was on, we had service so any calls that came through should have rung the phone and registered the number on the phone as well. After leaving the area the house is in my boyfriends phone suddenly registered 3 messages waiting for him on the cell phone. But there was nothing on his phone saying that he'd missed any calls and no number for any missed calls either. He called his voice mail and those messages you heard were on his voice mail and it really freaked us out. A Bit of back story about the Amityville DeFeo murders: There was a young girl murdered in the house, Allison DeFeo, with her family.
