Departing from Eisfelder Tahlmuhle towards Drei Annen Hohne / Wernigerode Feb 2005. Steam engine music from the coach near the engine! In the German Harz-area a large narrow-gauge railwaynetwork can be found. The Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) are operating this network mainly with steamtrains. Starting at the HSB-station in Wernigerode (234 m. above sea-level) you can start your journey through one of the most beautiful area's of Germany. The Harzquerline takes you to Nordhausen, the Brockenline to the Brocken mountain (1125 m. above sea-level), the highest 'mountain' in Northern Germany

  • I have done this several times from Eisfelder .Stood on the veranda of the front carraige. The engine is always bunker first. You are just feet away from the exhaust of the chimney! Tickets very cheap .A return from Drei Annen Hohne very cheap.Bueatiful forest scenery! Amazing in the snow!
