Charted at #7 in Billboard in May 1953. Theme song of the movie, "Ruby Gentry" starring Jennifer Jones (pictured in this video), Charlton Heston and Karl Malden. Also #3 for Richard Hayman in April 1953, #20 for Harry James and His Orchestra in July 1953, #20 for Victor Young and His Singing Strings in June 1953, #28 for Ray Charles in November 1960 (#10 R&B) and #58 for Adam Wade in March 1960.

Original Billboard review: "The flim tune gets still another reading. This one is moody and atmospheric, with a harmonica solo by Danny Welton featured. Will share what wealth there is." Billboard rating: 76 out of 100.

Written by Mitchell Parish and Heinz Roemheld.

The other side of this single is "A Little Love".
