Hey do you got a link the to that site you got the information from on hanging 39 Sioux warriors. I know that Lincoln isn't the man most Americans give him credit for. Lincoln had messed up a lot. John Wilkes Booth assassination made the guy a hero, when he was a very unpopular with both the North and the South. Plus he got depressed a lot, so he's not that strong-minded man we think he is.

lol the truth was Lincoln wanted only 1% for the south to pay for reconstruction. Everyone in Congress said the south needed to be punished so they bump it up to 50%. Because total war had destroyed the economy of the south. The south was in ruins.

Also, did you know Lincoln was the only President to have presided over a a mass execution? He personally hand picked 39 Sioux warriors to be hung so he could carry the vote in that state. Nice guy huh
