Ngoài các giải thưởng về giáo dục 2004 - 2005, năm nay một thành viên Thế Hệ còn được chọn là Người Tỵ Nạn Tiêu Biểu 2008 của Úc Châu.
Trong những chân dung được lưu ở Victoria Immigration Museum có một bức hình nghệ thuật đen trắng diễn tả sự khắng khít của một người Biệt Kích với nơi chôn rau cắt rốn của mình.
Bức ảnh đó chứa đựng hoàn toàn những khung cảnh Việt Nam. Sinh viên ngành nghê thuật BEN Telford đã diễn tả đề án Món Quà Cho Quê Hương do Thế Hệ thực hiện: bản đồ Việt Nam với hình ảnh các khóa huấn luyện, trẻ thơ Việt Nam và trẻ em khuyết tật ở quê nhà..

Van Tu TRAN is a gifted teacher who has developed new methodology in teaching Vietnamese and encouraging the younger community to maintain the Vietnamese language and culture. His programs involve teaching children Vietnamese and incorporating music, illustrations and computers.
Students travel from many different areas to attend his classes and he has changed the lives of many Vietnamese students in Victoria. He is also working to improve the learning experience of disabled children.
