Islam in Sweden

Islam is Sweden's second largest religion after Christianity, with an estimated approximately 250 000 professors. The majority of those living in the three metropolitan areas and immigrant Muslims who arrived in Sweden in the second half of the 1900s from various countries in Asia, Africa and the Balkans.

Estimating the number of Muslims in Sweden is a definition problem that arises whenever a religion's followers must be counted as not in any way legally registered by the state. Consequently, there are many different figures depending on how you define a Muslim. 1930 was the last population census in Sweden, where citizens were asked to indicate religious affiliation. Then said only 15 people that they were Muslims. Since then, one hand full religious freedom introduced with the 1951 religion law, and on the other hand, a significant immigration from Muslim countries has taken place, which established Islam as Sweden's second largest religion. According to the National Board for state aid to religious communities (SST), there were in 2006 about 100 000 Muslims in the eligible parishes in Sweden. Unofficial figures for the total number of Muslims may vary as much as from 100 000 to 250 000.

The most common definitions differ on an''ethnic''and''religious''Muslim, the former seeks to define it to be born into an environment dominated by Islamic traditions; belonging to a Muslim nation. This definition is independent cultural and political systems, and does not actively practice Islam as a religious system. The religious, on the other hand, specific beliefs, participating in religious rites and events, as well as''believes''to be religious. According to an extensive survey in the early 1990s to approximately 40-50% of the ethnic Muslims in Sweden have been religious.

Read a book "A God Who Hates" by Wafa Sultan, Wafa is a Syrian women who immigrated to America. She explains in great detail why Islamic countries live with hatred, distrust and fear. Very sad for their children who are born into these cultures and are taught to hate. Generations of propoganda from the Quran has bred a culture of hate within Islamic countries. Sad for them and scarey for the countries they are moving into.
