Busted leg Part4 1st cast comes off

After having some pressure sore's developing in my ankle a cast change was needed. Had I known the "cast" they'd put back I wouldn't have gone!. Notice ALL the padding in this first cast!

Compared to the one layer of cotton & very little cast the next one had, this one was a dream.

I decided to add the song" SHARP CUTTING WINGS (a song for a poet)"
by LUCINDA WILLIAMS from her new album "HAPPY WOMAN BLUES".

This song so often reminds me of skydiving, and my love for flying canopies.... I swear I knew this love before I knew a name for it. This is my skygal blues.

But all crisis has a flip side, something positive and worth seeking. This summer I wont be jumping any canopies for practically the balance of the season, so I've decided to try my hand at flying helicopters, and jousting...

I don't understand why they didn't put a removable stuff, at least for the first 15 days, to let your leg go back to normal size with oedemia and let you visually check your skin. You don't walk, don't move your leg, there were no risk for the bones ! They could also have done something with a window were pressure sore can appear. I'm really sorry for you. You may have gone under bad moments with the "pain" :(

@cistters health care in Canada is `free`to us all, but they made a tier system. if you have $ you can get anything your willing to pay for. Otherwise, if your working poor, making ends meet, on assistance etc. you get the `bare bones basics`which is enough to ensure you survive (to the best of their ability to hide any mistakes made that harm you). Your ideas are so logical! my para friend broke both his ankles- they never checked for sores in 6 weeks, he has one still 6 yrs later ,surgery etc.

removable cast is not even a question of cost... you make the cast, you wait it's dry, you open it, make a comfortable shell with it and soft padding and then replace and maintain it with tape... it needs something like 1/4 a hour of work ! I also think that many doctors don't take into account SCI particularites... my boyfriend had so many trouble while beeing treated as a valid !
