For all of the people that love the University of Alabama and the Million Dollar Band, checkout this video I made. I am Justin Mixon and "JMIX0606" is my youtube profile name. I interned at the Bryant Museum this past Spring 2011. Overtime, I figured that since the museum had a lot of history archival collections of the Alabama Football videos, photos, and trophies, I decided to come up with this video as my "Senior Project" for my class. I also wanted to promote the Bryant Museum with this video as well since I interned with them.

Using the "Final Cut Pro" Studio Editing Computer Program, I made this video in order to show the history of how the Million Dollar Band first started to how the Million Dollar Band currently is now along with Halftime show clips, which happens in the middle of the video towards the end.

I made this video using a combination of the University of Alabama "Corolla Yearbooks" from the previous years stored at the "Bryant Museum." I also used 30 sec or more clips from the "Million Dollar Band VHS" Tape. I gained the band director's permission to use it and cited them all so it wouldn't be any plagiarism. I tried to make this as professionally as possible and already got compliments from the Band Director Dr. Kenneth Ozzello. He wanted to keep a copy file of this video to keep as a memento on his computer. I worked hard for weeks on this Senior Project and it awarded me with an A+ so I hope you all enjoy it.

I am a true Alabama fan and still say congratulations to this day to "Mark Ingram" last month for winning the votes to be on the "NCAA 12 Front Cover." He truly deserved it.

  • they marched like a black school back in the day. from the marching style to the drills. that's cool. they should go back to that.

  • @Ktheblackdiamond I strongly agree to what you say.

  • That's not TCU at roughly 9:30. It's LSU. Also, what's up with the use of UGA's Glory, Glory? Regardless, entertaining video.

  • @wrhodestider Oh really? I looked a million times at the 1998 VHS Tape when I did this. I was pretty sure that this was TCU. I must've missed this small detail. UGA's Glory? What part of the video?

  • @wrhodestider After looking at the VHS 1998 Million Dollar Band Tape, it had in the red captions "Alabama vs TCU."

  • And, what was that woman carrying flowers for years? Quick, somebody, tell me a name? "Col" Butler was a misogynists who didn't allow women in his band for years. Never served a second in the miltary so why they title? DOC made the band into what it is today. Loved his direction at honor bands. He understood the relationship between music and entertainment. The band grew from 128 members to over 300 during his "reign" as director. He made the band what it is today.

  • "Col" Butler retires after 34 years! Thank god. Now, the band can be entertaining!

  • Butler was a misogynist and an idiot. How can anybody give him any credit. He didn't know music. The million dollar band under his tutelage was a bore and stupid. Dr. Ferguson brought the million dollar band into the 20th century and made half times interesting. I had the privielge of being in several honor bands and band camps with Doc. Two of my band directors in high school were his students. THEY taught me music. I ignored the MDB when butler was there. not even a real colonel.

  • @JMIX0606 Re: UGA's Glory See app. 11:55.

  • Sorry for the multiple replies. Computer issues.

  • @JMIX0606 The MDB tape is wrong. The stadium in that picture is definitely Tiger Stadium. Bama hasn't played TCU since 1975.
