  • DAMN, look at that... what, 2 FULL INCHES of travel in the front!... respect to these guys.

  • The first time I rode the Kamikaze at Mammoth was in 1997 with a Specialized Stumpjumper hardtail, Judy XC fork with 80mm of travel.

    That was one hairy-ass ride.

  • @sedicirich yeah true true .

  • @halfpipefreak No double crowns in 94, Judy forks had only just come on the scene and the bomber didnt exist. The boxxer came about in 95 only for pro use. longest travel bike then was the Foes Fab. But you are right they are xc bikes as DH specific took a while for some manufacturers to get on board, but the riding was different lots more pedalling. It really started to change in 96.

  • R.I.P JAY

  • @RobSchmooz who the hell do you think you are saying to me i know nothing about DH. dude i wasn't even talking to you, i was talking to jimbonorth1 so why are you commenting to me. just bugger off mate.

  • @halfpipefreak I take it you know nothing about the origins of DH then??? Look up the 'Re-pack Riders' and say their bikes are crappy too. If it wasn't for the Grand-daddies Of Downhill you wouldn't be riding 200mm travel bikes. JMC is a legend.

  • @BikemagicVideos these are just crosscountry bikes and they suck donkey balls. and they don't even wear friggin full face helmets. so that's very dumb, especially when you go down a mountain with such a crappy bike.

  • @jimbonorth1 back in 94 they had dampers and double crown forks. just watch kranked, that's soooo old and they ride double crowns and big DH bikes for that time. i even had a old DH bike from 2001 with a double crown 120 mm fork and a fox rear damper. the first DH bikes were made in the 80/90 's so this stuff is a bit lame if you'dd ask me. but still pretty cool for hardtail and i do respect those guys, i mean they ride really fast and do some small jumps on those flimsy bikes that's pretty sick

  • @halfpipefreak

Have some respect man, the boy was a legend. If it wasnt for the likes of him doing this stuff you wouldnt be doing jumps and stuff with your rear damper.
