  • Wow! This is freaking crazy! What the hell were they thinking!?!?!

  • How does this even happen? It cant be that hard to drop concrete into sand... I can place an anchor into a 5 by 5 foot patch of sand from 40 ft up how deep is this water? Where was the intended target and how big was it?

  • Here is how our DLNR and state make an artificial reef. Vary smart. So when Maui Dive Shop damages the reef they have problems but when our DLNR and stste do they should have to pay for what they have done. They don't seem to really think about what they are doing until it has been done.

  • WHO is responsible. It's criminal environmental destruction!

  • This is not only sad but totally unexcusable. The state, DLNR is spending huge amounts of money to make it difficult, or even stop hard working businesses who guide people and show them the proper way to dive/snorkel, enjoy the sea, while not disturbing or harming the ecosystem. Yet they can't spend the time or money to do there own job properly. Thus destroy what we try to share and save. They would do well to redirect there focus...SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!!!!!

  • I am appalled at this criminal activity. I frequently dive here and they have destroyed this area. If I had done this I would be put in jail! Someone must be held accountable and something must be done.

  • What a novel concept, create an artificial reef by KILLING a live reef! That's our tax dollars at work. Those involved should be fined and fired!

  • These are "Z" modules that they deployed trying to expand the artificial reef. Some of them didn't land quite where they planned.

  • Someone with a barge had to dump it. Way too heavy for a recreational boat. Looks like a commercial business wrong doing.

  • What were they thinking? obviously they weren't.
